One of the biggest blessings in being one of God’s children is
that we get to be part of His family. Every believer needs to be
connected to his or her brothers and sisters in Christ. It is awfully
discouraging to do the Christian life all alone. The local church is a
key component of how God has decided to accomplish His work on this
earth. It is a place where Christians can grow, be encouraged,
worship, serve, and reach out to a needy world.
You obviously know the value of being part of a church family. As
you look for a church, find one that believes right and acts right.
The way you can tell is by comparing what they teach and how they live
with the Bible (Acts 17:11). Look for a church that teaches and lives
out the Scriptures. Do they preach salvation through Jesus Christ
alone, or is it a mixed message that includes salvation through good
works and our own merit? Then, though no church or Christian is
perfect, do the people lead godly lives that are under the authority
of the Word of God?
Also, if possible, try to find a church close to where you live. A
good local church will help simplify your life, strengthen your
family, and increase your outreach ministry to others in your
community. In the New Testament, the only distinction among local
churches appeared to be geographical. Give first preference to the
Gospel preaching churches near your home.
If you are local and looking for a church home, I invite you to
join us one Sunday morning for worship at either 8:20 or 10:45. One
the services are similar, and while the preaching in both services is biblical
exposition, the first service includes more traditional music and
elements of worship while the 10:45 service leans toward a more
contemporary worship and praise music.
If you are a committed believer in Jesus Christ, we invite you to
join in, to serve, and to be served. If you are not convinced that
Christ is the true way, then we want to serve you. Feel free to
contact us or just show up for one of our services. You will be our
special guest and we would love the opportunity to introduce you to
our loving Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
