Something exciting is happening in you! Your spiritual interest
in the things of God is no coincidence. I am glad for you that God’s
Holy Spirit is stirring in your heart and drawing you to Himself
at this time.
My prayer for you is that you will prayerfully and carefully
seek after the Lord until you are certain that you know Him in a
personal way. Don’t stop short and don’t be satisfied just
knowing about Him. Ask God for help and guidance, keep turning to
His Word, the Holy Bible, and seek out other believers who can
help you along the way.
God sent His only Son, Jesus Christ, into this world to save
sinners. Of course, every one of us have sinned and come up short
of God’s perfect standard (Ephesians 2 and Romans 3). Though we
deserve an eternal death where we are banished forever from God’s
presence (Romans 6), God loved us so much that he sent His only
Son to die in our place (John 3 and Romans 5). But Jesus didn’t
stay dead, He rose again from the grave, proving that He defeated
death and sin for us (I Corinthians 15). If God has given you the
sincere faith to believe and you are aware of your need for God,
call upon Him right now to forgive you and give you a brand new
start in life (Romans 10). If you don’t have the faith in your
heart to genuinely trust, ask Him to show you the way and give you
the wonderful gift of faith. If you are sincere, I believe He will
answer your prayer.
Either way, would you pray to Him right now one of the
following prayers:
Dear Lord, I know I have sinned and disappointed you and
made a mess of things, but I believe Jesus died for those sins,
and in His Name I am coming to you asking for forgiveness. I know
what I deserve, and it is not Heaven, but I want to receive Your
free gift of eternal salvation and a home in Heaven with You
forever. Please come into my life, save me, give me a new start,
and put me on a new path. As You lead I will follow. In the
precious Name of Jesus I pray. Amen.
Or if you do not have faith that is even as big as a tiny
mustard seed (Matthew 17:20), then pray something like this:
Dear Lord, I feel funny even praying because I do not even
know if You exist, but I want to know. If You will show me the way
and place the gift of faith in my heart, I will believe and follow
You all of my days. I pray this sincerely wanting to know the
truth about You and the truth about life. In the Name of Jesus I
pray. Amen.
